POSITION:
Grounds Keeper/Warehouseman
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To maintain company buildings and grounds and assist in warehouse as directed.
MINIMUM JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Require high school graduate/equivalent. Require knowledge of an electrical distribution system, the materials and equipment used and the ability to maintain accurate records through written forms and the operation of the computer system. Must become knowledgeable of company policies and procedures, exercise correct judgment in the application of these policies and be committed to serve the member owners of the cooperative. Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license, DOT certification and licensed to operate a forklift. Must be familiar with lawn care techniques and equipment.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to work in various temperature extremes and weather conditions. The position requires frequent daily lifting/handling of items weighing as much as 75 pounds and occasional lifting/handling of items exceeding 75 pounds. Must be able to operate various power equipment and hand tools, including but not limited to forklifts, derrick trucks, hand trucks, lawn mowers and trimmers. Must be able to verify written information on documents, possess manual dexterity and ability to post information using a keyboard and monitor. Must pass a medical/physical exam verifying the capability to perform essential functions of this position. Must pass employment drug screen before beginning work and at random occasions during employment.
MENTAL/INTERPERSONAL ABILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills including listening, verbal communications, ability to provide feedback, ability to manage personal time and ability to control anger in dealing with members and co-workers. Must be able to perform job functions in cooperation with Supervisor, co-workers, members and public. Must perform in a consistent, even tempered manner in handling confrontational situations with members and co-workers. Must be able to exercise personal control and apply prescribed safety/loss control procedures when involved in an emergency situation.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Two way communication with immediate supervisor to receive direction, instructions, approval; to provide work related information in a timely manner; with other personnel to coordinate the issuance and return of material and provide and obtain warehousing information.
