LifeSpan Family Services of PA Receptionist/Office Assistant in Washington, Pennsylvania
The Office Assistant is primarily responsible for assisting those entering the office, attending meetings and those performing case management and placement stabilization oversight to families in the geographical areas served. This is at our Washington office, which will be open soon in the downtown area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as a receptionist and greet guests by phone and/or in person
- May log guests as needed to verify they appeared at the office
- Assist with the transportation of children and their belongings if needed, especially at the time of child placement
- Oversee potential visitations with family members of foster children; this will be 20% or less of the Office assistant's time
- Assist with case documentation, arrange and monitor visitation, and provide community information/education.
- Assisted with home visits to assess the safety and needs of children and families.
- Participate in court proceedings when needed.
- Assist with coordinated interventions by linking with other agencies (for example, mental health, school and/or medical) and general welfare services
- Assist with maintaining records of children and families, meeting state regulations
- Assist with working within a multidisciplinary team and taking part in associated meetings
- Will be expected to do light housekeeping during shift (vacuuming, dusting, cleaning of office areas, storage, staff kitchen & restroom)
- Must be able to obtain Child Abuse, Criminal History, and FBI clearances
- Will be required to have in-house training, including First Aid and CPR, Mandated reporting, Fire Safety and Medication Management
Education and /or experience:
A combination of education and experience deemed appropriate to serve in this role, with a minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent
Language skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to seamlessly work across groups and at all levels
Computer skills:
Very helpful to be familiar with the general use of computers and programs such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Publisher, Access). Canva experience is appreciated but not required, etc.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $25 to 30,000.00 per year
