MaineGeneral Health Professional Development Educator - Medical Assistant in Waterville, Maine

Job Summary:MaineGeneral Health is seeking a Professional Development Educator - Medical Assistant to develop and deliver services related to staff orientation, ongoing education, and performance assessment. This role involves collaborating with the inter-disciplinary team to assess learning needs, create educational content, and ensure compliance with clinical competencies and organizational policies.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the team to assess learning needs and competencies across departments.

  • Design, deliver, and evaluate educational activities focusing on clinical competencies, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements.

  • Promote research, evidence-based practices, and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of new staff orientation and educational programs.

  • Serve as a consultant and mentor in program development, clinical practice, and professional growth.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Associate degree program OR certification by one of the following nationally recognized programs

  • American Association of Medical Assisting (AAMA)

  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)

  • National Healthcareer Association (NHA)

  • American Medical Technologists (AMT)

  • Certification in health education preferred.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse, interdisciplinary team.

  • Teaching Experience Preferred

  • Associates degree in MA or related health care preferred

  • Five or more years’ experience CMA in the medical practice preferred
