Job Title : Spacer Fabricator

Pay Rate : $25.52/hour

Shift : 2nd Shift

Type : Direct Hire

This position involves the fabrication of radial spacers and the assembly of bandaged spacers, tapered spacers, and static rings. Responsibilities include fabricating and assembling common spacer rings, washer assemblies, yoke insulation components, and parts for winding cores and coils. The role also includes manufacturing insulation components from various materials, such as wood, TX support block board, wood laminates, pressboard, and paper insulation. Additionally, the position involves assembling former cylinders and complete cylinder assemblies. To maintain skill levels and reduce ergonomic stress, the position will rotate through various tasks regularly.

Responsibilities

• Receives assignments and instructions from supervisors, both verbal and written.

• Sets up and operates woodworking machinery for fabrication tasks.

• Sets up and operates milling machines to mill insulation strips, prepares punch press for perforating cylinder ribs, and punches various parts.

• Bundles materials and applies wax to ribs as required.

• Sets up and operates radial spacer punch, assembles radial spacer and bandaged spacer assemblies, and operates tapering machines.

• Fabricates blocks, which includes planning, ripping, sawing, sanding, and gluing.

• Assembles washer assemblies and common spacer rings, including setup of indexer, glue press, band saw, drill press, and small miscellaneous tooling.

• Moves finished materials to designated areas.

• Performs minor repairs and routine machine maintenance.

• Completes checklists, inspection forms, and material inventory control sheets as required.

Experience

• At least 1 year of experience in industrial manufacturing

• Previous experience operating machinery is preferred

• High School diploma or equivalent
