Job Type : HR Manager of Labor Relations

Location: This is a fully on-site position in Parsippany, New Jersey.

Compensation : $115,000 to $120,000 annually plus bonus

Under the direction of the Vice President of Talent, the HR Manager of Labor Relations manages and directs the employee and labor relations program for the company. This includes negotiation of collective bargaining agreements, contract administration and interpretation, and guidance/coordination of related management activities consistent with the labor relations strategy of the Company. Reports to VP of Talent. Works primarily out of Parsippany but must be willing to travel to other sites(Hamburg NY, West Nyack, Riverdale, Pompton Lakes, Mount Hope). Standard work hours are 8-5 Mon-Fri.

Please note the schedule for this role will require the employee to work full time Monday through Friday on site daily.

What you’ll do :

· Administers and manages administration of labor contracts; provides interpretation of labor contracts to managers, employees, and HR staff; oversees processes for review and resolution of employee grievances.

· Advises managers and employees on sensitive labor and employee relations matters, including grievance and arbitration procedures, performance issues, and disciplinary actions; advises and assists managers in identifying employee relations issues and determining appropriate course of action.

· Serves as the company's negotiator in contract negotiations. Maintains current knowledge of employee and labor relations trends, legal decisions, and statutory changes; conducts research necessary to support contract negotiations and employee relations. Uses appropriate negotiation strategies to develop bargaining goals and negotiate contracts consistent with the company’s mission, values, and goals.

· Facilitates ongoing communication and working relationships with managers and acts as a resource to ensure consistency in management of Labor Contracts.

· Represents the Company in arbitration and provides information, advice, and assistance to Human Resources department managers and staff regarding the application of statutes, regulations, contracts, and employee relations practices relating to their functional areas.

· Acts as a member of the Human Resources department team and participates in setting the direction of human resources support activities for the Company. Develops and recommends to the Vice President of Talent policies and procedures concerning employee relations and personnel practices.

· Manages the process to investigate and respond to complaints from the Bureau of Labor or other agencies.

· Demonstrates employee advocacy and develops a reputation as a neutral and approachable HR professional serving all employees and the organization.

· Provides current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties/responsibilities, compensation, opportunities for promotion, and employee benefits.

· Maintains professional demeanor in dealing with critical/confidential information; restricts discussion/knowledge of activity to a “need to know” basis.

· Oversees FMLA, Disability, and Workers’ Compensation claims to ensure consistency in how the claims are handled and communicates as needed with vendor and employee.

What you’ll bring:

· 5+ years of HR experience

· 5+ years of experience managing Labor contracts and working in a

Union environment

· Experience in Manufacturing industry
