Title:Maintenance Supervisor, 3rd shift, 3rd Shift Req ID: 5997 City, State:Wells, MN Reports to:Maintenance & Utilities Manager Classification:Exempt Work Arrangement:On-site, 8pm-6am M-Th, rotating Sat JOB DESCRIPTION Summary: The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the effective utilization of the team to address plant process, equipment, and facility upkeep. With a "One Team, One Mission" approach, this position collaborates across shifts and with multiple departments (Production, Utilities, Planning, Safety) to support consistent production, minimize downtime, and enforce HACCP, USDA, and food safety protocol, all while providing continued growth opportunities to our team members Essential Functions: Supervises the activities of Maintenance Techs and Apprentices, to track completion of work orders, planned repairs/projects, and preventative maintenance. Includes administration of scheduling, time and attendance, performance feedback and follow-up to ensure optimal job performance. Ensures quick and effective response to line breakdowns. Investigates and completes failure analysis on work order challenges and works through appropriate actions with teams to prevent future breakdowns. Communicates with Supervisors across shifts, and other departments regularly to coordinate maintenance activities with production schedules, providing breakdown and equipment repair status reports. Provide a safe environment for continued growth. Ensuring teamwork/cooperation among employees. Effectively resolving issues, problems, and complaints. Maintaining successful personal development through training opportunities. Maximizing team member job performance while maintaining safety procedures and policies. Required Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in Engineering with a prior Engineering/Maintenance internship OR an Industrial Mechanics' degree/equivalent technical diploma and five years plant maintenance experience OR seven plus years' experience in an Industrial Mechanics/related position. Strong interpersonal skills, to include professional oral and written communication, a teamfocused approach, and the ability to model composure/make decisions in stressful situations. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in food manufacturing facilities (esp. poultry) Regulatory compliance knowledge, including USDA regulations, HACCP, GMP and Food Safety (SQF) Strong computerized maintenance management system knowledge Bilingual (English/Spanish) Supervisory Responsibility: This position will be responsible for supervising Maintenance / Electrical team members are the Wells facility. Work Environment: Primarily office environment, with requirement to work in wide variations in environment temperature (-40-degree Freezers, 32-degree coolers, 40-degree production area, wet cold environment); noise, slippery floors and moving equipment in operations setting. Physical Demands: Position will include extensive standing, sitting, lifting, climbing ladders, wearing factory required equipment while working in production, walking, visual, responding quickly to sounds and driving. Position Type: This is an exempt role; may be asked to change schedule and work 'off'-shifts. Schedule will be 8:00pm - 6:00am Monday - Thursday with rotating Saturday. Travel: Some travel may be required in this position to assist in other facilities.
