Brief Description:

As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing ERP reporting solutions for various business processes. You will work closely with business users, IT staff, and vendors to understand the requirements, troubleshoot issues, and provide support. Experience is needed in data analysis and SQL programming. Proficiency in using SQL databases will be required. These skills encompass a range of abilities, including writing and optimizing SQL queries for reporting and connecting to multiple databases.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure business requirements are properly addressed by configuring existing ERP systems or developing new reporting solutions.

• Prepare, analyze, and distribute ongoing reports for key stakeholders.

• Develop and publish custom ERP reports, trigger events, custom labels within Epicor Prophet21 and BarTender (linking existing tables and views), and ad hoc data analysis.

• Assist members of all departments with data logistics requirements for vendors, end users, and customers.

• Discover opportunities for continual improvement and assist in implementing solutions with an increased focus on business automation.

• Work on ERP-related projects including system conversions, improvements, training, and on-going support.

• SQL Proficiency in writing as well as optimizing queries for reporting purposes, connecting to various databases.

• Assist IT Team with data warehouse and reporting projects

• Develop and deploy custom ERP reports and labels

• Look for opportunities for continual improvement

• Modify Existing Custom Datastreams in Epicor Prophet21 to provide connections to tables and views with efficient use of SQL joins to provide new data fields/analysis to existing forms.

• Educate users on ERP best practices.

• Utilize database tools for development and issue resolution.

• Dynachange (Menu Designer / Screen Designer / Tab Designer)

• MS SQL Server Management Studio (v14-18)

• Crystal Reports Designer

• Crystal Reports Server (publishing and scheduling reports from within SAP Business Objects Central Management Console (CMC)

• Managing Google Big Query Operations

   

Experience and Skills

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience with database tools

• Experience with systems implementations and integrations

• Regular usage of repository tools (i.e. GitLab, BitBucket, etc)

• Experience creating SQL views, table objects, functions, stored procedures, and triggers.

• Creating and Modifying existing SSMS maintenance plans and scheduled SQL jobs.

• Experience with ERP conversions, reporting, and customizations

• Proficient in SQL, report writing, and data analysis tools.

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

• Experience supporting Epicor’s Prophet 21 ERP system is preferred including working knowledge of the various modules (finance, manufacturing, inventory and sales) to support reporting needs.

• Preferred experience within the distribution industry.

• Strong working knowledge of Dynachange (Menu Designer / Screen Designer) and BarTender is preferred.

• Proven ability to identify, analyze and solve problems

• Excellent organizational, time management, interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

• Effective Communication skills to collaborate with business and technical users to understand data requirements and translate them into clear and concise reports.

• Efficient in time management, with the ability to efficiently see numerous tasks through to completion

• Business Process Understanding to write SQL reports that align with business needs.

• Task prioritization and organizational skills are a must

• Familiarity with project management principles and methodologies, including respecting deadlines and adherence to deliverable checkpoints.

• Ability to resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently.

• Ability to analyze complex operational needs and ultimately translate into effective and accurate ERP solutions.

• Proficient in process documentation.

• Capable of working in a fast paced, dynamic, team-oriented environment.

• Has the drive and initiative to handle multiple deadlines continuously implementing changes

• Able to work as a liaison between the business community and technical team.

   

   

Education/Credentials

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field.

• At least 5 years of experience in Epicor Prophet 21 analysis, configuration, and report development.
