GLOVER NURSERY INC. Yard Laborer (Temporary) in WEST JORDAN, Utah
Glover Nursery, West Jordan, UT. Daily transportation will be provided from a central location to and from worksites in the following counties: Salt Lake, Morgan, Utah, Weber, Davis. Five (5) Yard Laborer positions available. Temporary, full time position from 03/01/2025 through 10/01/2025, 8:00 AM -4:30 PM, 40 hrs/week, overtime varies, Monday-Friday, some Saturdays required, start times may vary. Workers will be paid Bi-Weekly at $20.30/hr, $30.45/hr OT, Raises/bonuses at employer's discretion. Duties: Maintain inventory, load shipments, move items; water, prune, weed, pot plants, keep stock organized and in good condition; maintain grounds and greenhouse/cold frame structures by organizing, cleaning, weeding, small repairs to structures by removing/placing plastic/cloth on structure or fix missing screws on metal components; repairs to weed barrier by removing/placing fabric and anchor pins or spread gravel before fabric placement; repairs to irrigation lines by replacing broken or missing parts or digging trenches/holes to replace a line; assist delivery drivers by loading/unloading products from our vehicles to a customers specified drop location and sweeping/cleaning up any resulting litter in or around the vehicle, help install crew with plantings. Typical tools used are: garden hand tools (wheelbarrow, shovel, pick, rake, hoe), small hand tools (hammer, screwdriver, plier, pvc cutter) small battery powered tools (battery powered drill), ladders. Occasionally operates skid-steer to move mulch, soil or plants for potting. Able to lift 50lbs. Must be able to work in inclement weather and extreme temperature. No experience required, will train. No education required. Employer may make payroll deductions at employee's request. A single workweek will be used to compute wages due. All deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law will be made. The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies and equipment required to perform the job. If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, employer will reimburse the worker for initial transportation and subsistence costs from the place of recruitment to the place of employment for those traveling from such a distance they are not reasonably able to return to their residence each day. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts. H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees).
