Job Description
Join the Naval Nuclear Laboratory team as an Enviornmental Health Technician at the Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory location. About the role: Successful candidates will work on the manufacturing of items for developmental testing at the Advanced Test Reactor. This role will require obtaining and maintaining several radiological qualifications including working as a nuclear fuel handler. Successful candidates would be expected to operate and maintain laboratory equipment, facility, and local infrastructure. Work to established schedules and procedures, communicate effectively with peers, test sponsors, and management. Verify and assure that the facility's operation is in accordance with documented test plans and procedures, perform routine mechanical assembly and repair on equipment, respond to emergency situations as they arise.
Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field; or Journeyman's papers in a related field.

Pay Range $50,800.00 - $76,200.00 annually Salary information provided is a general guide line only. FMP employees also have an established presence at numerous shipyards and vendor locations. For nearly 70 years, the Naval Nuclear Laboratory has developed advanced nuclear propulsion technology, provided technical support, and trained world-class nuclear operators to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our nation's submarine and aircraft carrier Fleets.
