Job Description

The Electrical Systems Engineering (ESE) Group at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join the team! The ESE group is the engineering group responsible for the electrical distribution systems throughout Bettis Laboratory. This responsibility includes maintenance of the substations and electrical controls systems and maintaining plant monitoring PLCs.

The engineer within this organization would be responsible for developing work packages to troubleshoot, repair, replace, or modify the electrical controls and plant monitoring PLCs.  The engineer will work closely with various operations and stakeholder groups to develop the work package and to follow the performance of work, including the operations and maintenance craft personnel, subcontractors, and lab technicians. Strong communication skills will be necessary as the engineer will be responsible to coordinate and resolve any issues with the personnel affected by the work evolutions that are planned.

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 9 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 7 years of relevant experience; or  Currently or previously Shift Supervisor Part II qualified; or qualified SIT and 3 years EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; or Currently or previously CRE qualified; or 6 years as SRE; or SRE qualified and 9 years of experience.

Experience working with Bettis medium and low voltage distribution systems Experience with medium and low voltage protection coordination Experience trouble shooting medium voltage electrical systems Experience engineering changes to medium and low voltage electrical distribution systems Experience working with contractors and oversite personnel

Pay Range $114,400.00 - $178,800.00 annually Salary information provided is a general guide line only.
