Description We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our team based in West Palm Beach, Florida. In this role, you will oversee cash and investment operations, supervise capital assets and inventory, manage AP/Purchasing, lead special projects, and act as a backup for HR and CFO roles.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee weekly cash flow and prepare monthly bank and investment reconciliations

• Enter and track items in inventory and capital asset systems and reconcile them with financial statements

• Review physical inventories and compare them to the financial statements, making necessary updates to the General Ledger

• Calculate and report fixed asset depreciation

• Review the pre-check register for accuracy, issue checks to the Accounting specialist, and maintain the vendor database

• Apply independent judgment in analyzing and evaluating financial and operational information and generate complex reports

• Conduct various financial analyses and calculations for multiple accounting functions

• Cross train with HR and CFO to provide backup support

• Prepare annual Unclaimed Property report for the State of Florida

• Ensure District policies and procedures regarding procurement are met Requirements

• Proficiency in Governmental accounting is essential

• Familiarity with Government Audits

• Experience in managing Government Grants

• Knowledge of Government Procurement processes

• Possess expertise in Account Reconciliation

• Proficient in Balance Sheet Reconciliation

• Experience in handling Bank Reconciliations

• In-depth knowledge of General Ledger management

• Skilled in creating and managing Journal Entries

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required

• Experience in Month End Close process
