Upstate Niagara Cooperative, Inc. Maintenance Supervisor in West Seneca, New York

Description

Working within the limits of authority, regulatory and company policies and procedures executes the continuous improvement plan of plant equipment utilization.

Must be available to work 1st & 3rd Shift as well as having Weekend and Holiday availability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all phases of operation and maintenance of systems, includes primary and ancillary equipment.

  • Manage preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance of process equipment throughout the plant.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.

  • Troubleshoot PLC and computer controlled devices.

  • Troubleshoot minor plumbing, building repair, and maintenance.

  • Train others on the team.

  • Responsible for monitoring performance, efficiency of utility-related process equipment. Recognizing deviation from optimal and rectifying it.

  • Responsible for managing maintenance department labor.

  • Responsible/assure first-line compliance with Federal, State and Local regulatory agencies for environmental discharges. Command understanding of regulations.

  • Responsible for maintenance employee job performance, including safety, orientation, training and discipline. Assure compliance with employee relation’s policies and programs.

    Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age

  • Must have experience with electro-mechanical, pneumatics, PLC controllers, and process instrumentation

  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings

  • Must have excellent verbal and written skills

  • Must have strong problem solving skills

  • Must be a self motivated individual

  • Ability to work well with others and be a team member

  • Must have safe work habits

  • Ability to train others

  • Must show enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related technical field is preferred and 5 years in-depth experience with industrial ammonia refrigeration and steam boiler systems, supplemented by formal education courses may be substituted for the degree requirement.

  • Demonstrated communication, technical skills and supervisor/management experience. Previous budget management responsibilities and control system experiences. This position requires the ability to demonstrate excellence in the following areas; ability to align performance for success, build successful teams, plan and organize, effective decision making, quality to orientation, manage conflict and strategic communication skills.

Pay Range: $81.7k-$114k/year*

*The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the salary range for this position. Actual salary will vary depending on factors including, but not limited to, budget available, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position’s qualifications, in addition to internal equity. The posted salary range reflects just one component of our total rewards package. Other components of the total rewards package may include participation in group health and/or dental insurance, retirement plan, wellness program, paid time away from work, and paid holidays.
