Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Medical Biller to join our Durable Medical Equipment (DME) company specializing in wound care and compression devices. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in medical billing, specifically with NYS Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance plans. This role requires proficiency in processing orders and claims referred to by providers, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all billing tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison between field sales representatives, referring to facilities, and physicians to ensure complete orders for billing and dispensing.

  • Verify insurance information, obtain authorizations, and secure single-case agreements.

  • Follow up with patients and referrals regarding authorization and order status.

  • Process claims with Medicare, Medicaid, Integra Partners, private pay orders, and commercial insurance plans.

  • Handle medical records requests and pre-payment audits; investigate and resolve denied claims in a timely manner, including Medicare appeals, re-openings, and reconsiderations.

  • Manage credentialing with insurance companies and facilitate new ERA and EFT requests on the Niko Health system.

  • Utilize Niko Health systems and Parachute Health for claim processing.

  • Maintain and update billing spreadsheets using Excel.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and clear written communication to clients and office staff.

  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure timely submission and resolution of claims.

  • Prioritize tasks with a sense of urgency and an entrepreneurial mindset.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with Niko Health systems or similar EMR billing platforms.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office tools.

  • Strong customer service skills and excellent written communication abilities.

  • Previous experience with Medicare, Medicaid, Integra Partners, and private insurance billing and credentialing.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and work under pressure.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
