Vertiv Corporation NPDI Engineer, Switchgear and Busbar in Westerville, Ohio
RESPONSIBILITIES * Interface with R&D engineering and product management to implement the Global Serviceability Specification on new Bus Bar & Switch Gear products. * Coordinate with the manufacturing centers to ensure timely information exchange of all products, i.e. ECN, SFA. * Provide technical guidance to Marketing in development of Scope of Work documents, and new services. * Provide technical expertise in development of service plans for new Buse Bar & Switch Gear products. * Represent Vertiv Services at design reviews, product reviews, and phase gate reviews. * Assist in the design and testing of new Buse Bar & Switch Gear products from a service perspective. * Develop source material for field service manual. * Attend equipment startups and collect and evaluate the finished product for future improvements. * Track initial startups and provide feedback to engineering and product management. * Assist with development of service execution procedures. * Provide support to Logistics for parts research, spare kits, and parts sourcing. * Review ECN and develop Service Tips, Field Change Notices, and Safety Bulletins. * Lead documentation and TKO development for new products. * Provide Domestic and International Technical Assistance. * Document new tooling or test equipment requirements. * Train Technical Support and Customer Engineers and first classes of CEs on new products. * Provide on-site Technical Assistance as required. * Develop startup and Preventive Maintenance forms for new products. QUALIFICATIONS * Minimum of four years technical degree from an accredited educational institution or equivalent training and experience. * Minimum of three years of field service or two years' experience as a Technical Support Engineer. * Excellent writing and verbal communication skills. * Excellent organizational and time management skills. * Ability to communicate and present material to Executive Management. * Possess a positive attitude and flexibility in a rapidly changing environment. * Detail oriented and self-motivated with the ability to work without direct supervision. * Proficient PC skills including all Microsoft Office products and web-based technologies. PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS * Reactive, fast paced and high-profile environment. * Occasionally lift objects up to 50 lbs.
