Job Description

A global broadcast company is looking for a highly skilled Systems Administrator to join their engineering team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing and configuring Dataminer Systems, along with proficiency in various operating systems and virtualization technologies. This role requires a proactive individual with strong problem-solving abilities and excellent teamwork skills.

On a daily basis, you will oversee the operations of Dataminer Systems, ensuring they run smoothly and efficiently. You will regularly update and maintain various operating systems, addressing any issues promptly. Your day will involve conducting routine server setup, configuration, and maintenance tasks. You will manage and optimize virtualization environments using VMware, ensuring efficient resource utilization. Writing and maintaining scripts in PowerShell and Python to automate tasks will be a regular part of your job.

Skills and Requirements

2 years of experience managing and configuring DataMiner

Proficiency with Linux, Unix, and Windows based systems

Strong understanding of OS installation, configuration and troubleshooting

Knowledge of virtualization technologies (ex: VMware)

Expertise in scripting languages (ex: python, powershell, etc)

Basic understanding of database systems (ex: SQL Server, MySQL, Cassandra)

Familiarity with security best practices (e.g., patch management, intrusion detection). Knowledge of video encoding and streaming

AWS Practitioner certification null
