Ocean Gold Seafoods, Inc. Can Line Machinist in Westport, Washington

Ocean Gold Seafoods, Inc. is looking to fill 10, temporary, full time, Can Line Machinist  positions at their locations in Westport, WA from 03/01/2025 to 12/01/2025. Job responsibilities include Operate or tend machines to prepare industrial or consumer products for storage or shipment. Includes cannery workers who pack food products. Employer is offering at least 35 hours/week, Mon-Sun, 7:00am -7:00pm or 7:00pm to 7:00am. Employer is offering up to 32 hours of overtime available per week as needed, but not guaranteed. Days/Shifts will vary. Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed. Workers will be paid at a rate of $18.89/hour. Overtime will be paid at a rate of $28.34/hr for working greater than 40 hours in any given week. Employer reserves the right to pay a higher wage, rate, or bonus to any worker in their sole discretion based on performance, skill, tenure, or experience. Job Requirements: No education or training required. At least 6 months of similar work expereince required. MUST HAVE GOOD MECHANICAL APTITUDE AND TROUBLESHOOTING SKILLS AND GENERAL KNOWLEDGE OF MAINTENANCE AND PLUMBING. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK EFFECTIVELY WITH MINIMAL SUPERVISION AND PERFORM WELL UNDER STRESS. MUST BE WILLING TO LIVE AND WORK IN SEMI-REMOTE LOCATION AND WORK UP TO 12 HOURS A DAY, 6 DAYS A WEEK DURING PEAK SEASON.   Transportation: If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved.  Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts. Transportation to and from the worksite will be provided at no cost to the workers. 

Housing: Optional Employer Housing is provided to the worker at a cost of $100/week.

Tools, supplies and equipment:  Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.

Other Employment Guarantees:  A single workweek will be used for computing wages due and workers will be paid every 2 weeks.  The employer will make all payroll deductions required by law and will not make any deductions which are not required by law. If an employee chooses to live in employer housing $100/week will be payroll deducted for housing expenses. H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees), incurred by the H-2B worker.
