Summary of the Position: The nursing assistant is a non-professional nursing personnel, who is certified to provide good nursing care for the convalescent and chronically ill residents. She assists the nursing staff by performing routine duties in caring for the residents under supervision of the professional nurse. Works only within the scope of practice as designated by the WV Certified Nursing Assistant Board. Certified Nursing Assistants: Must be current and in good standing with the West Virginia Nurse Aide Registry If not currently registered in West Virginia, must be eligible for reciprocity Previous experience preferred but not necessary Flexible Scheduling 8, 12, or 16 hour shifts available $3/$4 shift differentials for afternoon and evening hours and all weekend shifts Weekend Warrior Ability to be scheduled 16-hour shifts on Saturday's and Sunday's and be paid for a full 40 hours Competitive Wages Competitive Benefits Available After 30 Days Sign on Bonus Short Pay Tuition Reimbursement Employee Oriented Work-Place Duties: Making beds, bed baths, strip and cleaning units, A.M. and P.M. care, giving and removing bedpan and urinal. Care of equipment, checking the condition and reporting any mal-function or broken equipment. Answering call bells to address residents needs, feeding the residents, admitting and discharging with care of the clothing. Dispensing of water carafes, assist with turning, moving and transporting of residents, assist with postmortem care. Care of dentures, collecting urine specimens, care of the incontinent residents, and are of linens afterwards. Assist residents in and out of bed. Taking and recording temperature, pulse, and respiration; taking and recording blood pressure. Assist with on unit orientation of new CNA's as they are employed. Report all unusual information to the charge nurse or supervisor. Documentation via the care tracker system of all care provided during their shift.
