YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Vice President Field Force Operations are to:

The Vice President of Field Force Operations oversees the Field Force Operations function, responsible for developing and advancing the operational capabilities—people, processes, and systems—needed to support the US Pharmaceuticals Customer Engagement team of over 1200 employees. This role plays a critical part in driving the success of the US Pharma product portfolio and ensuring the smooth execution of new product and indication launches. The VP is tasked with optimizing core business processes and improving operational efficiency. Additionally, the VP serves as a key partner to cross-functional leadership teams, including IT, Compliance, and Insights & Analytics, within our new DSO operating model. Reporting directly to the Head of Customer Engagement, the VP of Field Force Operations is a key member of the Customer Engagement leadership team.

  • Develop and execute the Field Operations vision to drive the US PH Outcomes and the Customer Engagement priorities;

  • Deliver within budget and in time the functional activities across the following disciplines:

  • Field Force Deployment (Segmentation, Targeting, Alignment, Roster Management and Credentialing)

  • Business Systems & Operations

  • Field Force Strategy/Effectiveness

  • Incentive Compensation (IC)

  • Promotional Programs, incl. Speaker Programs and Displays

  • Sample Operations

  • Print Warehouse Management

  • Customer Programs (IUD)

  • Build commercial operational capabilities within the US, including the establishment of individual roles and teams, and all processes, and systems required to support the Customer Engagement/Sales Team;

  • Lead cross functional design teams to advance the US PH ways of working in alignment with the Customer Engagement priorities in 90-day cycles;

  • Partner with the global and local Information Technology teams and global commercial excellence function to make critical investment IT decisions to enable new business requirements and drive innovation in the field;

  • Manage the portfolio wide Field Operations vendors, ensuring on budget delivery and adherence to the Bayer compliance standards;

  • Leverage industry benchmarking and feedback to drive innovation and continuous improvement across the function, core processes and systems;

  • Act as a cross functional partner to HR, IT, Insights & Analytics, Commercial Data Management, Compliance, Employee Services (and others) in the effort to operationalize end to end the Customer Engagement deployment models, leading with an end-to-end mindset;

  • Act as strategic partner to Field Leadership, bringing forward insight-driven opportunities to optimize field execution strategies and drive operational effectiveness;

  • Inspire, coach, and develop employees to grow as individuals and a cohesive team;

  • Instill a culture of collaboration, trust and accountability across the team;

  • Manage the Field Force Operations budget.

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree required in Management, Business or related field;

  • Strong leadership, financial competencies and business acumen;

  • Strategic ability to create a vision for the Field Operations group and implement a plan to achieve it;

  • Strong Project Management Skills;

  • Record of attracting and developing strong talent both internally and externally;

  • Proven ability to grow and develop others;

  • Strong track record of partnering with cross functional leadership;

  • Good understanding of regulatory and legal requirements to US Pharma commercial operations;

  • Excellent presentation and verbal skills;

  • Ability to work under pressure to meet short timeframes;

  • Strong decision-making skills;

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with upper management;

  • Must possess good analytical, product promotion, customer relations skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10 years progressive leadership experience working in the Healthcare or related industry;

  • MBA or advanced degree;

  • Experience managing field operations teams in a Commercial Healthcare setting (field or commercial based).
