Job Title: Paint Prepper

Job Description

As a Paint Prepper, you will be responsible for the final paint preparation, including cleaning, detailing, and adding newly painted parts to trucks. Your tasks will also involve applying decals, climbing underneath trucks, and using rolling ladders to reach the tops of trucks and booms. You will be provided with a mask or respirator for safety.

Responsibilities

  • Perform final paint preparation tasks

  • Clean and detail trucks

  • Assemble and attach newly painted parts

  • Apply decals to trucks

  • Climb underneath trucks and use rolling ladders to reach truck tops and booms

Essential Skills

  • 6+ months of experience in Paint Prep in an Industrial Paint Environment or Auto Body Paint Prep OR 2+ years in a shop environment with mechanical knowledge

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs consistently

  • Own basic tools and bring them to work

  • Solid work history with no gaps

  • Excellent reading and verbal communication skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Detailing experience is strongly preferred

Work Environment

This is a very busy, large company with a strong focus on safety. The paint building is fast-paced and high-demand, with a stressful environment. You will be standing and performing repetitive, physical work for 8-12 hours per day. The environment is numbers-driven with mandatory overtime at times to meet high-speed and tight deadlines. You will be working with sanders throughout the shift, resulting in a dusty environment where masks or respirators are provided. The position is for 3rd shift, from 9:00 pm to 6:00 am.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of White Bear Lake, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
