New York Life Insurance Company Senior Database Application Analyst in White Plains, New York

Maintain and enhance internal financial reporting database applications, including implementation and enhancements for new and existing products, automation of reporting requirements to ensure the successful monthly load of the data warehouse, creation of control processes, and production of reports, including automated reports and adhoc analysis. Implement, maintain, and enhance process flows, database table structures, objects, reports, and queries development, using tools such as Oracle SQL, Linux, PL/SQL, QA and excel. Analyze and produce adHoc and planned reporting requests for feasibility, impact on current processing and to support business needs. Deploy controls to meet audit requirements. Collaborate with business partners to determine requirements and functional specifications. Translate complex business and actuarial requirements into programming specifications and technology solutions in collaboration with business, finance, and technology teams. Liaise with technology database administrators and other areas of technology for implementations and maintenance. Provide production support for jobs in process. Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve incidents.Position requires a master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Digital Sciences, Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field and two (2) years of experience in financial database application development or a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Digital Sciences, Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in financial database application development. Experience must include Oracle SQL, Oracle PL/SQL (Oracle Versions: 11g and 19c), LINUX Shell Scripting (Korn/Bash), TOAD, and Advanced Excel (Pivot tables, Data validation, Advanced Formulas and Functions, Macros/VBA, Data Management).
