Your Opportunity
Join a Top 10 global design firm in our Industrial Buildings practice that provides Architecture, Buildings Engineering, and Interior Design services with a long history and deep commitment to the sector. We are seeking Project Manager to join our buildings practice.
As a contributor to our Northern, professional Buildings team, you will work independently to assist clients through the planning and creation of fiscally responsible, cutting-edge designs. Your experience ensures that you are quite familiar with construction plans, specifications, estimates and building codes. You will be innovating and creating new prototypes designed with sustainable products with green architecture sensibility as your goals. You will lead the development of integrated design proposals, develop and manage integrated work plans, manage project financials, and coordinate with clients, while leading and mentoring others and collaborating with team members to contribute to the final deliverables as required.
Your Key Responsibilities
Managing multi-disciplinary project teams.
Responsible for managing complex tasks on multiple, medium to large scope, highly complex projects.
Day to day collaboration, oversight and communication with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and clients, to develop innovative design solutions and deliver high-quality projects.
Keep the Project Leader in charge informed of progress on project expectations, deadlines, and deliverables and understand the limits of the decision-making responsibilities of the role and respect the boundaries of the Project Leader’s responsibilities.
Keeps the overall project team informed of progress on project expectations, deadlines, and deliverables and understands the limits of the decision-making responsibilities of the role.
Participate in the client and project team to assure that the project design meets the client budget, schedule, program, and design intent.
Assists in the negotiation and development of project agreements.
Develop, track, update, forecast and modify the project schedule and budget throughout all phases of the project to realize target financial performance.
Develop and maintain project documentation, including contracts, schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
Mentor Assistant Project Managers/Coordinators and motivate project teams.
Assure that Project Management Framework tasks are timely completed and properly documented.
Assist with project coordination and client/site meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, clients, contractors and sub-contractors.
Manage and track change orders, applications for payment by contractors and other contractual modifications impacting budget and schedule.
Participates in client invoicing and effectively manages collections.
Proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring timely resolution and project success.
Evaluate, advise on and assist in resolving disputes and claims.
Support business development and proposal preparation.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Capable of simultaneously supporting one or more Project Leaders on multiple projects.
Progressive experience in the buildings facilities architecture & engineering industry preliminary and detail design, and construction administration experience an asset.
Demonstrated ability as a project manager of multi-disciplinary project teams specifically related to buildings projects.
Effectively manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with clients and external stakeholders.
Experience with business development and proposal preparation.
Excellent negotiator and communicator.
Education and Experience
Minimum 6 years of proven experience managing small to large-scale projects independently.
Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or similar preferred.
PMP designation preferred.
Typical office environment working with computers. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
