Description

We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our manufacturing client based in a quaint town just North of Indianapolis. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in all General Ledger activities through month-end close and related analyses.

Responsibilities include but aren't limited to:

• Take charge of general accounting functions such as journal entries, account reconciliations, etc.

• Assist in other areas of accounting and finance such Budgeting/Forecasting, Inventory Accounting and Fixed Asset Accounting.

• Participate in costing activities in production and inventory management.

• Actively participate in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process.

• Support external audit activities.

• Keep abreast of acceptable accounting practices and procedures to ensure the organization's compliance.

This role requires a basic understanding of bank reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, journal entries, month-end close, fixed asset accounting, inventory accounting, cost accounting, budgeting, reconciliations, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Requirements

• 1-2+ years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar within the manufacturing industry

• Proficiency in Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries and Month End Close

• Experience in Fixed Asset Accounting, Fixed Assets, Inventory Accounting, Inventory Analysis, and Inventory Audits

• Knowledge of Cost Accounting and Budgeting

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Familiarity with accounting software and systems
