We have an opening for a SURVEY LEADER who directly manages our Pennsylvania survey teams. This position also requires close collaboration with other survey leaders across the national footprint of Verdantas. Furthermore, this position will work closely with (or has the possibility to grow into) a company-wide Survey Practice Group Leader to lead and manage best practices across the firm.

As a Survey Leader at Verdantas , you will play an instrumental part in leading multiple teams of surveyors in delivering exceptional service to our clients. Work includes a combination of traditional land surveying, construction stakeout, and utilizing technology forward equipment such as drones, laser scanners, and Lidar.
Responsibilities:
Leads multiple teams of field surveyors daily, planning and directing surveying operations in conformance with company safety programs
Project scheduling, budget management, and quality of client deliverables
Leads or assists Business Development activities
Leads the development and implementation of the Survey marketing strategic plan
Prepares and develops proposals
Monitors and reports to senior management on Survey KPI’s
Prepares resource planning for survey projects and tasks including forecasting, project-specific resource plans, and staff sharing
Manages key clients and projects and monitors client relationship strategies with project managers
Manages and coaches Survey project managers and staff in multiple office locations
Performs annual performance reviews and actively supports career development and goal attainment
Manages administrative functions related to personnel and clients, e.g. invoicing, timesheet approvals, disciplinary and performance coaching
Attends networking events and is involved in community organizations
Actively participates in industry organizations
Occasional travel may be required
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in surveying required; higher education preferred
10 years of general surveying experience with 5 of those years in a supervisory and business development role
Professional Land Surveying license in Pennsylvania or ability to obtain PA PLS within 6 months
Strong understanding of survey techniques, and best practices
Excellent people management skills with a focus on staff recruitment and retention.
Familiarity with standard surveying equipment (GPS, Total Station, Precise Levels, Drones, 3D Scanners, and Bathymetric Units)
Part 107 license preferred
Experience in negotiating and resolving conflicts
Proven ability to work collaboratively across multiple disciplines
Demonstrated strong organization and time management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, and Excel)
Ability to work occasional nights and weekends as required to attend meetings or meet schedule demands
Experience in leading company-wide survey best practices/standards across multiple states is a plus
