Job Description Summary
The FP&A Team operates at the enterprise level within the Nuclear Business Finance Team, serving as a financial and analytical hub connecting core business units, functional areas, HQ Vernova, senior management, and the Board of Directors. This dynamic team is responsible for a broad scope of activities, including budgeting, forecasting, executive reporting, and strategic decision-making support.
As the Senior Income Statement Manager, you act as both a financial and analytical expert and a people leader, overseeing team reviews, professional development, and HR responsibilities.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
Leadership and Financial Planning
Lead Consolidation of Planning & Forecasting Processes: Manage long-term (LT) and short-term (ST) planning processes, including Strategic Plans, Budgets, quarterly forecasts, and monthly pacing across income statements, cost categories, and headcount.
Model Development: Create a flexible financial model to consolidate plans for internal and external reporting.
Materials Preparation: Oversee the development of materials and schedules for income statement reviews for internal leadership, Vernova, Investor Relations, and Board presentations.
Analytical Insight and Variance Analysis
Business Performance Analysis: Track trends, metrics, and drivers to identify risks, issues, and opportunities, delivering synthesized insights to enhance decision-making.
Variance Analysis: Perform in-depth analysis of actual results vs. forecasts and prior periods in collaboration with controllership. Provide detailed insights into revenue, cost of goods sold, SG&A, and key accounts, while articulating operating metrics and identifying headwinds and tailwinds.
Process Improvement and Reporting
Process Automation: Partner with the finance and IT teams to develop process improvements, including automation and Tableau-based dashboarding.
Income Statement Reporting: Manage closing and reporting processes for income statement metrics, data collection, and compliance with corporate and Energy Co requests.
Standardization: Maintain and coordinate internal pacing files, consolidating inputs from various finance managers to ensure consistency and serve as the single source of truth for HQ and corporate reporting.
Operational Excellence and Ad-Hoc Support
Efficiency and Productivity: Drive initiatives to streamline processes, reduce workload, and improve financial transparency and profitability. Develop expertise in cost management and allocation methodologies.
Ad-Hoc Support: Assist the finance leadership team with data requests and special projects.
Business Partnership
Decision Support: Collaborate with line of business leaders and FP&A partners to provide actionable insights, financial transparency, and accountability frameworks.
As a leader in this role, you will balance technical expertise and strategic leadership to optimize financial outcomes and enhance team performance.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum of 15 years of related finance experience
Eligibility Qualifications:
The preferred work location for this role is at the GEH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; but highly qualified (US based) remote candidates will be considered

The base pay range for this position is $148k-175k. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on 2/14/2025.
The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
