Acadia Healthcare Unit Clerk in Wilmington, North Carolina

Who you are:

Our Unit Clerks are a vital part of our nursing department! These are folks who help the nursing department run like a well oiled machine. Using your excellent organizational skills, you will keep the nurses' station orderly and well supplied. You will use your stellar customer service and top notch communication skills to answer phone calls as well as assist our patients with their requests and questions which may include obtaining services from nursing, medical or other hospital staff. You will put your fantastic computer skills to use by updating patient records in the EMR. You will work with outside facilities to obtain medical records for our patients as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent

  • Two years general office experience with excellent computer skills required. Experience working in a medical office preferred

  • CPI (Offered at facility).

  • CPR (offered at facility)

  • Ability to work with male and female, adult (18 & over) substance abuse/dually diagnosed/opiate dependent population.

  • Must be able to work with culturally diverse populations.

  • Ability to work every other weekend required

    Essential Job Duties and Functions:

  • Assists patients by responding to their requests/questions which may include obtaining services from nursing/medical staff as well as other hospital staff

  • Updates the patient medical record (EMR) as necessary

  • Obtains medical records from outside facilities as needed

  • Maintains the nursing station desk by answering phone calls, providing clerical support as requested and ensuring it has the necessary supplies
