What you can expect to do here:

  • Participate in field-based projects, including soil survey, classification, data analysis and reporting,

  • Assist with environmental and soil construction monitoring and related environmental fieldwork.

  • Support the preparation and submission of regulatory reports, compliance monitoring and permit applications.

  • Work independently while collaborating within a team to provide high-quality, solution-oriented consulting services.

  • Travel and work outdoors throughout the year in urban or remote locations.

  • Demonstrate project knowledge while seeking guidance from senior team members when needed.

  • Maintain strong attention to detail, with effective note-taking and documentation skills.

  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors and stakeholders in both oral and written formats.

  • Manage time and resources efficiently to meet project goals and deadlines.

  • Eligible for registration with the Alberta Institute of Agrologists (AIA) In-Training Program.

What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • A diploma or degree in Environmental Sciences or a comparable subject (student or recent graduate).

  • General understanding of soil and knowledge of soil classification in Canada.

  • Understanding of erosion and sediment control measures, as well as ecological succession and land reclamation principles for forested and agricultural land uses.

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.

  • Valid safety certifications (e.g., Standard First Aid, H2S Alive, TDG, WHMIS, PCST, or equivalent) are an asset. Training will be provided as needed.
