We currently have an opening for a Junior System Administrator to join our Home Office in Winter Park, FL.
Overview & Responsibilities:
Supports day-to-day operations of all computers by monitoring system security, performance, configuration, maintenance, and repair, ensuring that records of system downtime and equipment inventory are appropriately documented and maintained; Applies revisions to host system firmware and software
Tracks Team Members and monitoring system reported issues via SolarWinds service desk ticketing system to assess the impact of the reported problem and prioritize resolution based on the effect on the business, resolving tickets promptly
Maintains and establishes effective working relationships with department leaders, strategic business units, support units, and company team members. Interacts appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment
Provides level 2 escalation support to FPG leadership, service desk, and other FPG teams
Develops procedures, streamlines current practices, applies established protocol for managing configuration changes, implements change updates, and executes software upgrades across the environment
Performs regular backup operations and implements appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
Assists with documenting, managing, monitoring, and remediation of all FPG device backup and strategies
Communicates, documents, implements, supports, and updates LANs, WANs, Network Segments, Internet, Intranet systems, and software in a multi-office setup across multiple locations and integrates automation processes to align with business goals and objectives
Assigns routing protocols and routing table configuration and maintains network security, understanding of DNS and OPSEC
Participates in regular reviews of infrastructure and security for areas of improvement and security audits
Works with domain registration, public DNS record administration, and website hosting
Supervises problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and organization related to contractual agreements with vendors
Provides additional CRM software support to end users on tier 2 issues and escalates to appropriate personnel for more complex issues
Provides recommendations from a system administration perspective for project-level and enterprise-level improvement projects
Manages projects effectively, ability to scope, track and assist with PMO active and potential projects
Reads and writes scripts, assist in developing small scripts about IT systems based on PowerShell, Javascript, Batch Files, Perl, C#, Python, and data manipulation
Troubleshoots PBX/Telephony/VOIP hardware and software
Works closely with Office 365, Azure active directory, SPAM filters, intelligent hosting, Azure and AWS environments, understanding complex Active directory issues, including LDAP and Azure AD Connect
Travels to client sites up to 30% as needed
Requirements and Qualifications:
Associates degree in computer science and engineering technology is preferred
Three or more years of progressive system administration experience
Experience with troubleshooting methodologies and processes
Knowledge of multiple different storage devices and storage connections
Experience with virtualization technologies and virtualization support (VMWare ESXi)
Experience with networking concepts, routing protocols, and virtual local area networks (VLANs)
Experience with network hardware such as FortiGate and Sonic Firewalls, Cisco and Unifi switches, and Ubiquiti Unifi Access Points
Understanding of IP telephony systems and protocols (SIP)
Experience with building and troubleshooting IPSEC tunnels
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Self-motivated with the ability to think outside the box
Must be able to work in a team, recognize problems, and offer potential solutions
