BIO RAD LABORATORIES - 390 Manufacturing Science and Technology Manager in Woodinville, Washington

This position will oversee all the technical, engineering, process, and maintenance functions for the Woodinville based, Northwest Plant, that produces Microplate (EIA), Slide IFA/DFA, Multiplex Technology, Reagent Manufacturing. This role is on the Site Leadership Team, reporting to the Plant Manager. In this role, you will be key to safely and efficiently meeting the current and future manufacturing commitments for a growing, key business for Bio-Rad. This role is responsible for meeting business level goals focused on customer service, quality, and cost targets in order to successfully manufacture products that meet predetermined specifications and quality attributes. You will work closely with other members of the site Leadership team and with key stakeholders in R&D, Product Management, Portfolio Management, Quality and Sales organizations. In this role, you, and your team, will provide solutions to various, on-going relevant issues and concerns to support all aspects of manufacturing, New Product Introductions (NPI) and Continuous Improvement (CI) projects and programs. You will also be responsible for all equipment maintenance within the site providing the proper and timely execution of projects. As the lead to the Manufacturing Scientists, Engineers and Maintenance you will be critical in the site growth via participation in planning for the future, as well as initiation, management and delivery to project objectives. Manage technical and engineering processes and budgets, manufacturing maintenance to meet production, QC, NPI and CI objectives. Ensure resources are available for routine and emergency manufacturing support for equipment and processes and balance this against deliverables for strategic projects and continuous improvement goals. Own site Capital Expenditure budget and projects, NPI site level requirements, material replacement and shelf-life extension projects and compliance and CI initiatives. Manage and direct the timely execution of projects, from inception to completion, performing research and developing recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection of new and existing technologies considering project deliverables, timelines, and risks. Design, implement and sustain key management processes in support of validation, maintenance, and calibration. Develop and monitor appropriate metrics and reports on team performance, capital project progression, and continuous improvement activities for a variety of audiences. How You'll Make An Impact: Create tactical and long-term strategic manufacturing objectives for the unit to drive favorable trends in business results through implementation of improvements in equipment, processes and products. Define the team's roadmap, success metrics, and priorities in close collaboration with cross-functional partners to ensure focus on the highest value projects. Lead own team and advise other teams, gathering and analyzing manufacturing process data to identify key issues and bringing corrective action, to drive toward Company objectives. Collaborates with other leaders internal to site and in other groups, such as Quality Assurance, Facilities and EHS to align the technical vision given product and operational needs. Coach and develop team on continuous improvement, creative problem solving and ensure success and progress on long term development plans. What You Bring: Education: Bachelor's degree in a general or applied science such as Engineering, Biochemistry and/or Chemistry is required. MS/PhD Preferred. Work Experience: 8+ years supervisory/management experience required managing technical ME and Scientist teams in a manufacturing environment.
