Job Description

Summary:

Under close supervision, verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Shipping:

  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.

  • Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.

  • Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.

  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.

  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.

  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.

  • Operates tier lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.

  • Packages all products in an efficient and orderly manner in accordance with all shipping procedures, packing slips order acknowledgments and customer requirements to meet delivery schedule and maintain product quality.

  • Meets full compliance on all export related shipments and activities.

Qualification:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be able to lift, move and carry parts, bins, boxes, spools, etc. Weight may reach/exceed 80lbs.

  • Must be mobile enough to move about the plant as needed while operating various machines, pull and move inventory, goods, and product as well as handle small, fragile piece parts while working both hands independently.

  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Residents.
