Description and Responsibilities
Open Sky Community Services, in collaboration with the Department of Corrections (DOC), is excited to announce a first of its kind program in the state of Massachusetts, The After Incarceration Support Program. This program will support the re-entry of returning citizens who have been recently released from the DOC and other individuals who have a history of Justice System Involvement. The Aftercare Incarceration Support Program is community-driven and fosters active community involvement, and engagement. The program offers a safe , judgement free, resource rich environment that breaks down barriers to reintegration while providing access to essential, customized resources, and supports a mission to invest in each individual’s success. The scope of services includes outreach and engagement, food and nutrition assistance, educational and job placement services, housing assistance as well as healthcare and addiction treatment.
The Crisis Intervention Liaison treats visitors, individuals served, and others with dignity and respect while performing a variety of patrols and customer service interventions in the outdoor space of the After Incarceration Program.
Key Responsibilities:
Minimize soliciting and trespassing by assisting visitors, clients/individuals served, and others with finding parking and accessing appropriate areas of the building to obtain needed resources within the program.
Monitor and assess the office grounds space.
Ensure that the program grounds are safe for individuals served, staff and others and are well maintained, including free of litter and safety risks.
Ensure that visitors in the program are using appropriate means of entering and exiting the building.
Provide assistance to individuals in the office park with location, travel routes and access to Open Sky services.
Qualifications
Previous experience with justice involved population required.
High school diploma, GED or equivalent, required.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
Must be able to stand and walk for long durations, conduct patrols on foot, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Must be willing and able to assess individuals served for potential crisis situations and de-escalate and manage crisis situations as needed.
