Air Force Materiel Command COST ANALYST in Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a cost analyst in the 88th Air Base Wing financial management office preparing and presenting Cost/Management Assistance Studies, collecting and preparing data for Base Overhead Cost Factor development, as well as reviewing/performing economic analyses of 88th ABW operations. Responsibilities Leads and/or performs specialized, individual economic analyses and impact studies in support of a variety of budget programs. Performs management assistance studies as requested by the base or ASC Commander or staff, handling all portions of these efforts on an independent basis. Performs cost analysis support as member of special ad hoc study groups for subjects having operational, economic, or industrial resource implications. Uses automated system(s) and computer-generated products in accomplishing cost assignments. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience in analyzing, recommending solutions, and accomplishing workload for the assigned organizations, objects classes, substantive programs, and support activities. Performing a wide variety of cost and budget review functions, conducting analyses and special studies, and providing reports, database tools, advice, and guidance to field finance offices. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of commonly used cost methods, practices, procedures, regulations, policies, and processes to perform cost analysis, economic evaluation, and cost estimating that assist and impact in the formulations, justification, and execution of assign budgets in support of the mission, structure, goals, work processes and programs of assigned organization. Knowledge of missions, functions, goals, objectives, work processes, and sources of funding pertinent to installation programs/organizations. Expert skill in the application of analytical methods and mathematical and statistical analyses, and various cost estimating techniques to analyze and evaluate the effects of changes in program plans and funding and conduct economic and cost studies/analyses. Ability to gather, assemble, analyze data and make recommendations in developing cost studies and estimates and develop alternatives. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to justify, defend, present, and/or advise on cost processes. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
