Reliability Project Manager --Wyandotte, MI (onsite)
We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Dispersions & Resins (ED) team in Wyandotte, Michigan.

As the Reliability Project Manager, you will support the Wyandotte Dispersions & Resins Plant by utilizing your experience and knowledge of Project & Asset Management to drive long-term, cost minimizing and sustainable solutions for reliable operation of plant assets. Previous experience directly supporting operating plants with experience in instrumentation, control valves and controls equipment would certainly be an important plus. A safety driven, continuous improvement, strategic, collaborative, data-driven and cost-conscious mindset is critical for this role.
This role will work hand in hand with the Operations, Engineering, Maintenance and Asset Management personnel to deliver projects that improve plant capacity and reliability.

Project Management (80%)
Management for small to medium area originated projects, typically manages non-Com S and supports Com S Projects
Responsible for projects from idea (charter) through execution.
Need capability to support low complexity projects quickly and efficiently.
Develops project scopes, generates and/or obtains cost estimates, and prepares project objective memos (POM’s)and project Application forms toobtain necessary funding authorizations.
Ensures that appropriate project safety reviews are completed as required both before and after approval and adheres to current corporate and plant requirements
Seeks compliance with all EHS requirements and promotes a safe working environment for project execution.
Utilizes applicable value-improving practices (VIP’s) to optimize project scope and costs.
Requests and coordinates required process, design, and construction engineering resources, whether from the Area or Site Engineering groups or outside vendors, to prepare design deliverables and to procure equipment, materials, and services.
Provide support as a discipline engineer for assigned projects, based on engineering degree background or experience.
Maintains SAP project data entries, monitors project progress through scheduling and other tools, performs project status reporting, and controls spending through appropriate tracking, forecasting, and adjustments.
Monitors and supports construction activities to ensure that projects are completed according to the design deliverables, quality standards, and plant requirements, and that pre-startup safety reviews are conducted whenever required.
Depending on experience and project complexity, provides technical support for construction, commissioning, and start-up activities. Manages construction contractors, focusing on safety, quality, schedule, and cost, while addressing technical issues that arise during execution. Has knowledge of multidisciplinary construction practices and technical standards.
Works with Operations to schedule and prepare for construction. For outage and non-outage construction work, clearly communicates scope and schedule with enough detail for Operations to prepare permits and prepare equipment for line breaks, line cuts, and lock-outs.
Follows through to ensure Operations achieves successful project startups, and project-related action items are completed in a timely manner.
Ensures projects are closed per guidelines, and ensures proper documentation of files, records, databases, and drawings to meet regulatory and BASF requirements.
Assist in developing & managing the Shorts & Long-Term CapEx plans, as well as implementing effective cost containment on PM-managed projects, to ensure capital budgets are kept on their predicted glidepaths.
Development of Reliability-Related Projects (20%)
General knowledge of mechanical equipment design and understanding of maintenance and reliability activities associated with process equipment, such as centrifugal pumps, piping systems, pressure vessels (including heat exchangers), atmospheric storage tanks, positive displacement pumps, relief devices and compressors of various design
Your knowledge of mechanical equipment design and detailed understanding of maintenance and reliability activities, associated with process equipment such as pumps, piping, pressure vessels, atmospheric storage tanks, relief devices and compressors of various design will enable you to strategically optimize our portfolio of projects, delivering them in a way that helps drive our long-term asset effectiveness goals.
Experience with manufacturing reporting systems, specifically using SAP.
Implements asset improvements through the completion of the BASF management of change process including coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve desired results.
Works with the Asset Manager to minimize total cost of ownership for plant assets
Ingredients for Success…what we look for in you…
BSin Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred),as well as project engineering and/or project management experience or relevant experience.
Minimum 10 years of combined Project Management, Reliability, or related experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably within the Chemical/Petrochemical industry.
Experience using SAP for project management and/or maintenance processes is a strong plus.
