Management Business Solutions Senior Payroll Specialist in Wyoming, Michigan

*SUMMARY: *Management Business Solutions is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist for its client in Wyoming, MI. This individual will oversee payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The Senior Payroll Specialist will handle payroll for a large workforce, including processing garnishments and withholdings, while collaborating with HR and accounting teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for all employees using payroll software such as SDS, Paychex, or ADP.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll for a large, multi-state workforce.
  • Review and validate payroll data, including hours worked, deductions, tax withholdings, and garnishments.
  • Process garnishments, ensuring compliance with applicable laws for child support, tax levies, and other deductions.
  • Ensure accurate withholding for federal, state, and local taxes, as well as benefits and retirement plan deductions.
  • Prepare and file tax reports at federal, state, and local levels, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to address payroll-related concerns and streamline processes.
  • Maintain accurate employee payroll records and generate reports as needed.
  • Address payroll discrepancies and assist employees with payroll-related inquiries.
  • Stay informed about updates to payroll laws and regulations.
  • Monitor payroll system data integrity and recommend process improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred but not required.
  • At least 5 years of payroll experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll processes, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in payroll systems such as SDS, Paychex, or ADP, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
