Overview
The Maintenance Mechanic maintains and repairs industrial equipment associated with the refinery.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to rebuild pumps with different seal assembly- Mechanical seal or Packing type seals
Ability to troubleshoot pump failures
Ability to install and precisely align pumps, gearboxes, blowers, etc
Ability to repair, maintain and replace conveyors (Screw conveyors –Belt conveyors)
Perform mechanical maintenance and repair on a variety of equipment on site
Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools to make mechanical repairs
Willingness to learn new skills such as basic welding and cutting, with the help of professionals and coworkers
Ability to work with little or no supervision
Ability to always maintain a clean workshop environment
Required Experience
A minimum of 3 years of experience working in maintenance or in a mechanical position in an industrial or related setting
Rotation shift, overtime and weekends are mandatory on an as needed basis
Must possess a basic toolkit set. (Hammers, screwdrivers, socket wrenches, etc.)
Required Qualifications
Ability to:
Lift up to 50lbs
Use hands and arms to reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and manipulate materials and tools
Walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, stoop, crawl, and climb constantly throughout the shift
Reach, bend, twist, rotate, push and pull frequently
Work in confined spaces
Work in high places
Work with a full face respirator
Work independently as well as a team player
Climb up and down ladders
Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime
Must be able to perform tasks wearing required PPE such as but not limited to protective footwear, clothing, safety glasses/goggles, etc.

REWARD PACKAGE The expected pay range for this position is $36.86 per hour. This is a unionized plant and wages are determined by our collective bargaining agreement.
