Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic maintains and repairs industrial equipment associated with the refinery.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ability to rebuild pumps with different seal assembly- Mechanical seal or Packing type seals

• Ability to troubleshoot pump failures

• Ability to install and precisely align pumps, gearboxes, blowers, etc

• Ability to repair, maintain and replace conveyors (Screw conveyors –Belt conveyors)

• Perform mechanical maintenance and repair on a variety of equipment on site

• Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools to make mechanical repairs

• Willingness to learn new skills such as basic welding and cutting, with the help of professionals and coworkers

• Ability to work with little or no supervision

• Ability to always maintain a clean workshop environment

  Required Experience

• A minimum of 3 years of experience working in maintenance or in a mechanical position in an industrial or related setting

• Rotation shift, overtime and weekends are mandatory on an as needed basis

• Must possess a basic toolkit set. (Hammers, screwdrivers, socket wrenches, etc.)

• Ability to:

• Lift up to 50lbs

• Use hands and arms to reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and manipulate materials and tools

• Walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, stoop, crawl, and climb constantly throughout the shift

• Reach, bend, twist, rotate, push and pull frequently

• Work in confined spaces

• Work in high places

• Work with a full face respirator

• Work independently as well as a team player

• Climb up and down ladders

• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime

• Must be able to perform tasks wearing required PPE such as but not limited to protective footwear, clothing, safety glasses/goggles, etc.

  REWARD PACKAGE The expected pay range for this position is $36.86 per hour. This is a unionized plant and wages are determined by our collective bargaining agreement.
