ASR Group/Domino Sugar Mechanic 1 in Yonkers, New York

OVERVIEW
The Pipe Fitter Welder installs, maintains, repairs and troubleshoots all industrial pipelines within the refinery using standard tools associated with tasks.
WORK EXPERIENCES
Including but not limited to the following:
Must have a general knowledge of STICK, TIG and MIG welding
Ability to work with high- and low-pressure steam vessels and piping. Perform hydraulic pressure test
Ability to plan, measure, fabricate and install pipe system layouts to specifications with a high degree of precision using hand tools such as cutting torches, grinders, pipe threading machine, saws, welders
Ability to repair clogged pipelines
Must be able to work in confined spaces and hot areas
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products and determine product dimensions.
The ability to prepare working sketches for the illustration of product appearance
Must be a team player with obvious enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work well done, and self-starters dedicated to continual quality improvement
Must have the willingness to work with other crafts (Electricians and Mechanics) to assist in the maintenance of the facility and production equipment.
Must be able to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with engineering, supervisory, or manufacturing personnel to provide guidance on technical systems or process-related topics
Must always maintain a clean and orderly work area and shop
Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter
Dispose of scrap or waste material in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations. Separate scrap waste and related materials for reuse, recycling, or disposal
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Installs, maintains, repairs and troubleshoots all industrial equipment within the refinery such as pumps, valves, water heaters, pans, heating torch, welding, brazing, drill motors, wrenches, hoists etc
Repairs and installs plumbing fixtures
Installs valves from ¼ to 24”
Works in a safe manner following all refinery safety requirements
Required Skills
Ability to repair and replace pumps, valves, plate and tube heaters
Understands and interpret blueprints, sketches, schematic drawings and instruction sheets
Ability to perform all jobs in accordance with established safety practices and sanitation standards
Required Experience
A minimum of 5 years of welding and fabrication experience
Overtime and weekends are mandatory on an as needed basis
Must possess a basic toolkit set. (Hammers, wrenches ½ to 1 1/8, socket wrenches ½ to 1 1/8, etc.)
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED

Work in confined spaces

Work with a full-face respirator
Work independently as well as a team player

Must have regular and predictable attendance
Ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime
Must be able to perform tasks wearing required PPE such as but not limited to protective footwear, clothing, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
