Education Requirement: High School Graduate or Equivalant, Bachelors in Engineering or related field preferred Experience Requirement: A minimum of 3-5 years of construction estimating experience is required. Must be able to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and contract documents. Must have advanced knowledge of general trades. Excellent understanding of estimating applications, preparation of proposals, project management, conceptual estimating, job cost accounting, and scheduling for construction. Special Skills: Advanced proficiency in use of estimating software, specifically Timberline, and on-screen take-off Travel Requirement: Frequent travel to project location, generally within 2 hour radius of York, PA. We are currently seeking a Senior Estimator to join our Wagman Construction, Inc team. Reporting to the Vice President of Preconstruction, the Senior Estimator leads a team of estimators, developing strategic bid strategies and fostering strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to drive project success through timely execution. The Senior Estimator oversees proposal preparation, risk and budget management, and project coordination, ensuring accurate cost estimates and team alignment.

As a full-service general contractor, Wagman Construction facilitates growth and development in senior living, healthcare, higher education, urban, institutional, and industrial markets in central Pennsylvania, Virginia and Maryland.

Qualifications:Organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.Strong leadership and management skills including individual & team development, coaching, and mentoring.Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships with clients, designers, direct reports, and subcontractors.Knowledge of market pricing and trends.Ability to conceptualize and create construction budgets based on preliminary designs.Excellent analytical, reporting, and negotiating skillsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high degree of professionalism.Essential Functions:

Develop strategic bid strategies to foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to enhance project success and competitive advantage.

Identify, mitigate, avoid, transfer, and address risks, contractual terms, and constructability issues, ensuring they are accounted for within project budgets.

Oversee the creation of detailed estimates & proposals, including cost breakdowns, scope of work, value mana ement options, and market input. Ensure all documentation is prepared and reviewed ahead of submission deadlines. May include lump sum, GMP, or negotiated price proposals.

Project coordination and leadership execution through internal meetings i.e. kick-offs, scope reviews, and early bird estimates, ensuring alignment among estimators, project managers, and other stakeholders.

Maintain relationships with subcontractors, ensuring timely bids and proper scope understanding, while fostering communication and expanding the subcontractor base through networking and meet-and-greets.

Review and manage self-perform work, including labor productivity rates, material pricing, and equipment needs, ensuring alignment with project margins and strategies.

Lead preconstruction meetings with clients, reviewing cost impacts, scheduling, and design changes. Maintain and distribute updated value management documents and review matrices.

Write, review, and ensure approval of comprehensive scope of work for subcontractors, ensuring clarity and completeness before issuing work orders or purchase orders.

Ensure all estimators conduct thorough take-offs and provide accurate bid tabulations. Oversee the compilation of estimate workbooks and ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.

Submit all required reporting weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.. Lead team and manage the growth and development of all direct reports.

Maintain a high level of professionalism by following the values of WCI in all interactions.

Physical Requirements of the Essential Functions:Able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods up to 7 hours.Able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. occasionallyAble to occasionally bend, squat, kneel, and climb i.e., ladders throughout the workday.Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands.Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions hot, cold, wet, etc..Ability to travel to project sites and work at heights above 6 feet as necessary.Must have acceptable corrected vision and hearing.Company Benefits:
