Title: Part-Time Lecturer (Paralegal) Employee Classification: LL - Adjunct Lecturer Pay Grade: LL 00 Division: Academic and Student Affairs Subdivision:School of Tech Prof Services Mngmt Department: College of Eng & Technology Campus Location: Main Campus General Summary Eastern Michigan University - School of Technology and Professional Services Management is seeking an instructor to teach in-person substantive legal courses including, but not limited to: Cyber Law, Family Law, Probate Law & Hospitality Law. Principal Duties and Responsibilities • Responsible for assigned courses • Maintain a positive learning environment • Prepare and submit syllabi, course materials, assignments, and assessments, as requested by Paralegal Program Coordinator • Consider learning differences when designing and implementing learning activities • Employ appropriate assessment tools to measure student performance • Use technology effectively to achieve course goals and objectives • Available for student meetings outside of assigned classes • Prepare and submit attendance records, grades, and other required documentation consistent with Eastern Michigan University schedules • Attend periodic meetings with Paralegal Program Coordinator and Paralegal Program faculty • Possess a commitment to the education of paralegal students and the utilization of paralegal services • Possess a commitment to continued professional growth by participating in activities designed to improve teaching effectiveness • Perform related duties as required Minimum Qualifications: • J.D. • Five years work experience • Excellent writing, research, and analysis, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills Special Instructions: Submit a (i) cover letter; (ii) resume; and (iii) statement of teaching philosophy.
