Job Description

Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is searching for a qualified candidate to fill the roll of Maintenance Supervisor. The Maintenance Supervisor will lead comprehensive maintenance operations supporting the Naval Integrated Training Environment, ensuring optimal equipment performance for critical training events. This role involves spearheading documentation efforts, trend analysis, and predictive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and enhance mission readiness. The Maintenance Supervisor will collaborate with site management and government stakeholders, including the COR and KO, to coordinate maintenance activities and present updates on contract performance.

Leadership: Provide leadership, training, and coordination to foster a culture of reliability-centered maintenance across all staffing levels.

Point of Contact: Serve as the primary contact for all maintenance activities on the range, including scheduling and coordinating with department leads, site managers, and government counterparts.

Documentation & Tracking: Track and document all maintenance functions, including configuration management, change requests, corrective actions, and service outages.

Technical Direction: Provide technical direction to technicians, engineers, inspectors, contractors, and others in the maintenance, repair, remanufacture, troubleshooting, and operation of assigned systems.

Team Management: Manage a team of maintenance personnel, such as generator mechanics, job control specialists, electricians, and other maintenance roles.

Cost Analysis: Prepare cost analysis and engineering trade-off studies to identify cost reduction opportunities.

Coordination: Oversee troubleshooting, failure analysis, and corrective actions.

Documentation Improvement: Enhance maintenance plan control documentation, policies, and procedures.

Risk Management: Review and approve task hazard analysis documentation before high-risk maintenance efforts.

Collaboration: Collaborate with site management and government stakeholders, including the COR and KO, to coordinate maintenance activities and present updates on contract performance.

Briefing: Prepare and deliver detailed briefs to senior leadership, offering key insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.

Proposal Support: Partner with the capture team during proposal reviews, contributing technical expertise and insights to enhance contract-winning strategies.

Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement by refining documentation, policies, and processes in alignment with contract requirements.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Ensure employees conduct themselves professionally and adhere to applicable government regulations. Work with sub-contract management to resolve employee relations issues and discipline. Coordinate with range projects to ensure asset availability for surge requirements.

Union Workforce: Manage and collaborate with unionized maintenance personnel.

Authority: Assign personnel and conduct tasking for the SWTTR Range in accordance with contract requirements.

Customer Responsibilities: Represent the contractor on contract matters related to daily range operations. Support government-sponsored meetings, briefings, and reviews as required. Coordinate range scheduling with government representatives. LI-MA2

Essential Job Responsibilities

Supervises skilled traders, general maintenance employees or outside contractors who construct, maintain, and repair utilities systems, buildings, and equipment. Sets priorities and performs forecasting and allocates the resources needed to complete all preventive and corrective maintenance tasks. May be responsible for building, maintenance, and repair budget for some or all of the facility, depending on scope and span of control. May be responsible for maintenance of high voltage systems, utility infrastructures, steam generators, and piping systems. Provides support to production services by ensuring that maintaining equipment, power, and light services for all facilities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field OR

  • 4 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field OR

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant progressive experience.

  • Five (5) years of DoD training range experience

  • Three (3) years of managerial experience with DoD efforts

  • Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing)

  • Cyber security training

  • Knowledge of quality assurance

  • Knowledge of change and configuration management

  • Knowledge of HAZMAT

Preferred Requirements

  • Knowledge of IBM Maximo

  • Knowledge of Jira

  • Knowledge of Confluence

  • US Citizen

  • SECRET Clearance required

  • Ability to obtain a CPR/First Aid certification

  • Valid state Driver’s License

Physical Requirements

May be required to visit job site in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level.
