ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Secure reimbursement for new technologies through timely submission, effective handling of local processes and key stakeholder management, both internally and externally.
Build local market access strategies and implementation plans, taking into account short term and mid-term business goals. Foster strong partnerships with country/regional business leadership and ensure regular alignment on market access priorities.
Lead engagement with top-level executives, key decision makers and influencers from health insurances, govt. reimbursement officials, medical key opinion leaders, HTA agencies agree
Where applicable, initiate and lead hospital consultancy / applied market access initiatives where needed through direct interaction with hospital clinical and non-clinical stakeholders, and in close collaboration with the commercial team.
Liaise closely and regularly with EMEA HE&R leaders in defining priorities, building strategies, aligning and communicating with business leaders, managing activity budgets and executing timely.
Analyze market access trends / health policy changes and assess impact on market access, reimbursement and pricing. Communicate impact analyses and recommended course of action pro-actively to HE&R and Business Leadership.
Manage the external affairs advocacy in matters related to market access and reimbursement through working with key stakeholders in government and in industry associations in both countries. Seek alignment with EMEA Government Affairs and with Public Affairs.
Contribute actively to the HE&R Global team by providing input on both countries; interacting with Global Therapy Leaders; engaging in global working groups; and sharing best practices,
Manage Market Access consultants as needed and ensure timely delivery of results and communication, as well as budget discipline.
Proactively make suggestions on how to further build the department considering current and future country market access realities and business needs. If applicable, attract and manage department staff and manage department budget.
Where needed, develop strategic and innovative reimbursement models including, but not limited to, development of price volume agreements, risk-sharing models and alike.
EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES
Master’s Degree preferably in Business Administration, Public Health, Health Economics/ Health Policy or Medical Areas
5+ years of experience within Belgium reimbursement system
5+ years of experience in dealing with pricing, reimbursement and HTA (Health Technology Assessment)
Experience in Medical Devices preferred, Pharmaceuticals is a plus
Fluent in English and Dutch with good command of French.
Demonstrated leadership skills, business acumen and excellent communication skills. Balance subject matter expertise and rigour with time pressure
