About the role

The Manufacturing Environment, Health, Safety & Security (EHS&S) Head is responsible for coordinating all EHS & Security programs across the NA Manufacturing sites and for leading all EHS & Security programs at the Zeeland Factory. The incumbent leads the deployment of Global & regional strategy for embedding a Safety-First culture where each member of the team actively owns Safety and seeing it’s implementation across the site and wider region. This position is responsible for leading the design and implementation of a transformational Culture for health and safety programs, as well as environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives, both regionally (across XX sites?) and within the Zeeland Factory. They demonstrate the leadership behaviors, and a commitment to safety and quality while ensuring the development of a strong talent pipeline and an engaged team.

Your responsibilities

• Participate as a key member of the Zeeland Factory Site Leadership Team; drive strategic direction and vision of the site to be the Most Trusted Infant Formula Factory.

• Partner with cross functional teams to foster a Safety-First culture through listening, education and training, accountability and continuous improvement.

• Works closely with the global EHS team to support the business strategy under its scope of control,securing the deployment of initiatives, corporate and regulatory goals.

• Develop strategic functional goals and annual objectives in alignment with the Nutrition Supply strategy and in support of the Zeeland Factory, aligning to global targets and programs

• Manage the sustainability roadmap across the US Nutrition Manufacturing sites to meet business commitment while ensuring compliance with local regulations and ISO certification requirements including the management of hazardous materials and waste, their proper handling, storage and disposal.

• Lead the Zeeland EHS Team. Develop and execute long-term plans related to succession planning and team development, cost management, facility improvements, equipment upgrades and regulation changes.

• Effectively communicate and review the functional and financial performance of the EHS department and programs, manages the tools and processes to monitor key performance indicators.

• Establish and implement EHS strategic continuous improvement plans. Explores industry trends, develops strategies, and drives the adoption of leading EHS technology.

• Understand the continuous improvement (CI) methodologies and use them to drive sustained results, including continuous Safety related training & learning

• Lead the Environmental Health & Safety Management System for the Zeeland Factory including contracted Occupational Health and Security programs and teams.

• Implement training programs to educate employees on EHS&S best practices.

• Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures for all the sites.

• Uphold the Reckitt Human Rights and Responsible Business Practices policies, including those aspects pertaining to working hours and overtime.

• Audit EHS systems and programs to ensure compliance to internal and external standards.

• Actively participate in the development of the fixed departmental and capital budgets and administer the approved budget under its responsibility including capital expense requests.

• Ensure that all physical assets of the site are effectively protected and maintained from a safety perspective.

• Ensure effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

• Ensures compliance with state, federal and local regulations (i.e. OSHA, MIOSHA, EGLE, NFPA, etc.) and internal standards, coordinating maintenance of ISO 14001 and 45001 certification.

The experience we're looking for

  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in an Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Management, Engineering, Business, or other related discipline is required.

  • 10+ years managerial experience in various areas of health and safety in a highly- regulated (FDA) industry is preferred.

  • In-depth knowledge of EHS&S regulations and standards. Certification in relevant EHS&S disciplines is a plus. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

  • This role is not currently sponsoring visas or considering international movement at this time.

US salary ranges

USD $127,000 - $194,000

US pay transparency

The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year.
